Celebrating Mothers and Women Shaping the Future of Agriculture

Celebrating Mothers and Women Shaping the Future of Agriculture

Mother’s Day is a time to recognize and celebrate the women who give so much of themselves to the people and communities around them. It’s a day to pause and appreciate not only the care and dedication that mothers bring to others, but also the strength and leadership they bring into the workplace, especially within the agriculture industry.

This year, that recognition is even more meaningful as we reflect on the International Year of the Woman Farmer by the United Nations. Across agriculture, women make an impact at every level, shaping innovation, strengthening our industry, and helping feed the world. Many of these women are also mothers, balancing multiple roles with determination and purpose, and bringing a unique perspective that drives both progress and connection.

At Valent U.S.A., we see impact every day through the women across our teams. Whether in the field, in research, in operations, or in leadership, their contributions are essential to who we are and what we accomplish together. Creating a space where women feel supported, valued, and empowered is not just important, it’s necessary to continue growing and innovating as an organization.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate and thank all the mothers, caregivers, and women at Valent who continue to inspire those around them. Your work, your perspective, and your dedication matter. Not just today, but every day.

Below we are proud to highlight and celebrate a few mothers at Valent U.S.A. as they share words of encouragement and support:

Sue Tonkin, Learning and Development Manager:

“To be a mother is to make room in your life for someone else’s becoming – a choice of the heart, carried forward through generations.”

Libby Spellman, Senior Manager, Digital and Brand Communications

“Being a mom goes by faster than anyone warns you about, so try not to spend too much time stressing over being perfect. The laundry will wait, the dishes will still be there, but the little moments won’t. Hold them longer, take the pictures, laugh at the messes, and trust yourself. Your kids won’t remember whether everything was perfect, but they’ll remember how loved and safe they felt with you. Some days will feel long, but the years truly fly by, so just live in the moments while you can and trust that you are doing better than you think you are.”

Tiffany Dean, Vice President, Sustainable Solutions and Crop Production

“In both leadership and motherhood, our greatest impact isn’t just in the results we see today, but in the environment, we cultivate for the future. Watching my two-year-old daughter navigate the world with fearless curiosity reminds me that our most important work at Valent is exactly that: fostering a world where the next generation can thrive. To my fellow mothers and women across the organization: your ability to balance high-stakes strategy with everyday heart is the ultimate sustainable solution. Happy Mother’s Day.

Kristina Madden, Territory Account Manager

“Being a working mother isn’t about doing everything perfectly—it’s about showing up with intention and giving yourself grace. To all the women at Valent, trust that your perspective matters and that balance looks different in every season.”

Leslie Garcia, Associate Director, Regulatory and Stewardship

“Wow – where do I begin? If I can provide one piece of guidance to other mothers, it’s to take time for themselves. Part of being a mom sometime require us to prioritize our children, family, and others’ needs before our own. Let’s remember that we cannot take of others if we can’t take care of ourselves. Please remember that taking time for yourself is ok and spend it doing something YOU enjoy, whether its time with friends, a hike, or spa day – take the time to connect with the person you are without the mom duties 😊”
