Valent and Nufarm Extend U.S. Distribution Agreement

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. and ALSIP, IL. — Valent U.S.A. LLC and Nufarm Americas, Inc. announced today that the two companies have signed a five-year distribution agreement. As a result, Nufarm Americas will remain the exclusive distributor of a broad portfolio of Valent branded products.

The agreement covers Valent products for the professional turf and ornamental (T&O), aquatic and industrial vegetation management (IVM) markets in the United States. In addition, it continues the distribution partnership Valent and Nufarm established in 2014.

“This agreement between Valent and Nufarm ensures continued innovation, service and support to our T&O, IVM and aquatics customers,” said Matt Plitt, executive vice president and chief operations officer for Valent. “The history of the two organizations working together is something that Valent is very proud of. Under the terms of this extended agreement, Nufarm will continue to offer the entire line of Valent branded products. These products support professional golf course, lawn and landscape, production ornamental and aquatic use. They also support industrial vegetation management markets.

However, this agreement excludes Valent’s business in agricultural crop protection, seed protection, consumer home and garden, forestry, pest control, timber treatment, public health and animal health markets.

Furthermore, the U.S. agreement builds on many successful distribution collaborations. These collaborations were established between Valent’s parent company, Sumitomo Chemical Company, Limited, and Nufarm Limited. This relationship began after Sumitomo’s strategic investment in Nufarm in 2010.
